Los Angeles, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2012) Angela M. Hutchinson signs on as the first Casting Director to be repped at The Filmtrix Agency based in Sherman Oaks, California. Hutchinson has cast several movies, web series and short films. Recently, Hutchinson cast Billy Dee Williams and Lynn Whitfield, among other star actors in the feature film, "The Trace," directed by Pascal Atuma. The film is scheduled for a limited release this summer in theaters internationally.


Hutchinson had her Casting Directorial debut in 2009 for a SAG-indie film, "Guardian of Eden," starring celebrities Tangi Miller ("Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion"), Persia White ("Girlfriends"), David Ramsey ("Dexter") and other stars. Since then, Angela has cast numerous actors and was hired to attach the main cast for a $13M feature film. Hutchinson takes pride in having 'discovered' actress Allyn Rachel by casting her in an AFI short film, "Save a Life." Rachel is now repped at CAA.


A Chicago native with 10 years of industry experience, Hutchinson has worked for MGM, Warner Bros. Television, and the Grammy's. She has established relationships with hundreds of power players including agents/managers, film/TV execs as well as both celebrity talent and artists on the rise. Prior to Angela's transition into casting, she worked as a Talent Agent at RPM Talent Agency who TV credits include booking actors on "Ugly Betty," "Zoey 101," "My Name is Earl," "Everybody Hates Chris," etc. While at RPM, Hutchinson repped actors, models, and music artists such as Prodigal Sunn (Wu-tang Clan). Hutchinson is also the founder of BReaKiNG iNTo HoLLyWooD, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization launched in May 2005 to help creative and business professionals pursue their entertainment careers with integrity, creativity and enthusiasm.

Hutchinson earned her bachelor's degree in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Cross-Media Journalism certificate from USC. Also, she is a nominee of the 2011 Maynard Insitute Media Academy at Harvard University. Hutchinson has been a speaker at notable film festivals and a judge for talent showcases. In addition to her work in entertainment, she is active in her community--serving on several boards and she is a former Los Angeles City Official. In addition, Hutchinson enjoys writing and has two published books. She also serves as Editor-in-Chief of Hollywood & Vine, a print magazine she founded in July 2011, and it now receives 102,000+ clicks/month to the online iPad version. In her leisure time, Hutchinson enjoys rollerblading and spending time with her husband and two young children.
